As a director of a company (Ltd, PLC or LLP) in England and Wales (and soon Northern Ireland) you will no doubt have heard of Companies House and know that you have to send annual returns and accounts to them each year.
What you may not know is that they regularly produce news releases on legislation (Companies Act 2006 and its implementation for example) ) and matters affecting companies. Transitional Provisions for Companies Act 2006
The Companies Act 2006 comes fully into force on 1st October 2009. Companies House has published a table outlining the transitional provisions of the Companies Act 2006 for the most commonly filed types of forms and documents.
Companies Act 2006 - Letter to Companies
Companies House is writing to companies to advise about the final implementation of the Companies Act 2006. A letter and brief guide will be sent to every registered office address during August and September.
Draft guidance and forms available
Draft forms and guidance are now available from this website. These are in draft format and are subject to change, but will give you an idea of the final versions ready for 1st October 2009. Copies of Model Articles and Registrars Rules are also now available, (please note that the Schedules have yet to be populated) as well as the draft price list for October.

Northern Ireland Company Registry Integration
The Companies Act 2006 creates a single company law regime that applies across the UK. As part of this, the Company Registry for Northern Ireland (CRNI) will be fully integrated into the Companies House registry in October 2009.
